NYC Web Design

Websites Built to Work for New York Businesses.

A strong website should load quickly, explain the value clearly, and make the next step easy. Our senior team designs, builds, tests, and supports the full experience.

01 The case

Performance Is Part of the Customer Experience

Google has been measuring page speed as a ranking factor for years, but the way it now scores Core Web Vitals (Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay, Cumulative Layout Shift) means a slow site is meaningfully harder to rank than a fast one, and a slow site converts dramatically worse. We build sites that load in under two seconds on a 4G phone connection, with images served through a CDN at the right resolution, fonts that do not block rendering, and JavaScript that runs only when needed. NYC users are impatient. A site that takes four seconds to load loses about 25 percent of visitors before the page even paints. We have rebuilt slow Manhattan agency-built sites for NYC clients and watched their organic traffic climb 30 to 60 percent within three months purely from the speed improvement.

Design the Phone Experience First

Mobile-first design means designing the phone version of your site first, then expanding to tablet and desktop, not the other way around. The reason it matters: most NYC web traffic now comes from phones, and Google indexes the mobile version of your site as the canonical version (mobile-first indexing). A site designed for desktop and squeezed onto mobile loses both rankings and conversions. We design the phone version first, with thumb-zone-aware tap targets, single-column layouts that read clearly at arms length, and forms that do not require pinching to zoom. The desktop version is built to be excellent, but the phone version is built to be primary.

Conversion Architecture, Not Just Visual Design

A beautiful website can still fail if the path to action is unclear. We design each page around what the visitor is trying to understand, what concerns need to be answered, and what next step should feel easiest. The visual design supports that journey instead of competing with it.

SEO Built Into the Build, Not Bolted On

Most agencies treat SEO as a service to sell separately after the site is built. That approach forces you to retrofit the site with SEO concerns the original architecture did not consider, which is expensive and rarely complete. We build SEO into the foundation: URL structure follows search-friendly patterns, structured data is added during development not after, page titles and meta descriptions are crafted around target keywords from the discovery phase, internal linking patterns are designed to push authority to revenue pages, and Core Web Vitals are tested before launch not three months later when the rankings have not arrived. NYC SEO is competitive enough that this matters more than in lower-density markets.

E-Commerce, Booking, and Integrations That Actually Work

NYC retail, hospitality, and professional services often need a website that does more than display information. We build Shopify e-commerce stores with proper product taxonomy and conversion-optimized checkout flows, restaurant sites with OpenTable or Resy embeds and online ordering, service business sites with Square or Calendly booking, and B2B sites with HubSpot or Salesforce form integration. The common thread: the integration has to actually work, sync data correctly, and degrade gracefully when something fails. We test integrations under load before launch, not after a Manhattan client emails us at 11 PM saying their reservations are not coming through.

What Working With Us Looks Like

NYC clients work with us almost entirely remotely. Discovery and strategy happen via 60-to-90-minute video calls. Design review happens through Figma where you can leave comments directly on screens. Development happens on staging URLs you can preview from any device. Pre-launch QA happens in shared spreadsheets. We respond to client communication same-day during normal hours. The senior person who helps shape the project remains involved in delivering it. You continue working directly with senior members of our team after kickoff. NYC clients consistently mention this as the most refreshing change after years of Manhattan agency relationships.

02 Common questions

What determines the cost of a website project?
Manhattan web design agencies typically charge $25,000 to $200,000-plus for a custom site, depending on complexity. Cost depends on the number of pages, content, integrations, platform, and timeline. After discovery, we provide a clear proposal and keep the senior team directly involved.
How long does a website project take?
A standard marketing website (8 to 15 pages, custom design, CMS integration, basic SEO) typically takes 6 to 10 weeks from kickoff to launch. E-commerce sites with payment integration run 8 to 14 weeks. Simpler landing-page redesigns can be done in 3 to 4 weeks. Manhattan agencies often quote longer timelines because their internal process has more layers, not because the work itself is harder.
Do you build on WordPress, Shopify, or custom code?
All three, depending on the right tool for the job. WordPress for content-heavy sites that the client wants to update regularly. Shopify for product-focused e-commerce. Custom static HTML or React for marketing sites where speed and SEO matter more than client-side editing. We will recommend the platform that fits your business, not the one we want to sell you.
Can you handle SEO and ongoing maintenance?
Yes. Every site we build ships with technical SEO baked in: clean URLs, structured data, optimized Core Web Vitals, mobile-first responsive layouts, and proper canonical and meta tag handling. We also offer ongoing maintenance, content updates, and SEO retainer engagements for clients who want continuous support after launch.
Do you work with NYC clients remotely?
Yes, almost entirely. Discovery, design review, content collaboration, and development testing all happen through video calls, shared Figma files, and Slack. We come into the city for kickoff or photography days when it makes sense. Most NYC clients never need to come to our studio in Larchmont, though they are always welcome.
